These two dresses are amazing in that you can wear them layered together or on their own! In all honesty I made them separately intending that they each be their own dress, but just for fun tried them on together and was amazed at the ensemble! The glittery ribbed fabric subtly shows through the sheer fabric, the traveling ribs are showcased at the bust and back, and fringe playfully peaks out at the hemline.
Because both dresses are semi-sheer, they are both very stretchy and naturally mold to the body to fit a range of shapes and sizes. They look just as gorgeous and flattering on a UK10 as the UK20 as you can see below.
The sheer ruffle dress can be worn on its own as a chic lingerie piece, pictured here worn over a bodysuit. This dress is surprising simple to make, composed mostly of rectangles, and using a simple but clever ruffle technique.
The ribbed dress also shines solo, pictured paired with a long sheer short row waterfall capelet. With this dress I was exploring traveling ribs, which I tried both on my flatbed and double bed machines. This is a really fun and engaging technique which I am excited to teach.
